At times even cause me to clear my throat spontaneously.Over the last decade I don't have attacks at all (unless I go off preventatives) and I'm far more of the cough up phlegm - particularly during allergy season - chest tightness type of asthma now. I cough up a "pearl" every couple days or every day right now. I find most of that phlegm is coming up from closer to my throat than deep in my lungs.I wake up in the morning and in the middle of the night coughing up a lot of the little mucus balls. It happens a little bit through out the day. Sometimes they are balls and sometimes they are like a hair, but made of mucus. I am very scared and do not have health insurance.
